I think Schwaller de Lubicz was onto something. Few if any Egyptologists have come close to his astounding studies of the bas-reliefs, ruins, and temples of Luxor and Karnak, or matched his considerable insights into the nature of the ancient Egyptian worldview. Some of you may know that Inner Traditions released his 1100-page masterwork, THE TEMPLE OF MAN, last year—a work that John Anthony West has called "The most important work of scholarship of this century." Now they're about to release THE TEMPLES OF KARNAK, which I'm told represents the only complete photographic record of Karnak's temples before vandalism and sheer traffic degraded them. I've already ordered my copy and can't recommend de Lubicz's books enough. The order number is 800-246-8648. I expect KARNAK will be as expansive and provocative as was THE TEMPLE OF MAN, which was extremely challenging but ultimately a breakthrough experience. Schwaller, in my view, revealed to open-minded people the true Egypt—magnificent, otherworldly. And I think future thought on ancient Egypt will draw increasingly from his groundwork.
