A friend recently asked me a question about the structure of Egypt in the tiem before the First Kingdom. What he asked about was society structures know as "Noms". He said that Egypt was divided into as many as 12 Noms, each had its own focal diety. The Diety attributed to the most central (geographically) was a goddess of rebirth. My question is what is the name of this Nom and what is the name of the goddess?
