Yes, sonar pulses directed at the area in front of the sphinx suggest that there is an empty space underground. Unfortunately, all other claims you heard are based upon mere speculation. It is possible that a room exists which could contain documents which could solve ancient mysteries, but there is no hard evidence. To my knowledge, no attempts have been made to access this "room" for fear of damaging the Sphinx in the process.
